WELCOME TO THE EAGLE LAKE FISHING GALLERY
Our GALLERY is our top bookmarked page on our website(s). It is also the only photo gallery available any where that includes every season all year long at Eagle Lake Ca. Since we live in Spalding at the northwest shore of Eagle Lake’s middle basin, we have the opportunity to be here to take photographs and share our adventures so our viewers can keep up with our wonderful Eagle Lake. Many of our visitors are not able to come up between January 1 and opening weekend but they still wish they could. Our aim is to bring you here any day of the week and any time of the year. Consider us your “Virtual Eagle Lake”. Our photos and pages are copyright protected & fully registered with the Library of Congress. We are not affiliated with any agency and we are not a tourism website. We have no financial gain in what we do.
Every spring when the creeks begin to flow, Mother Nature willing, we see the spawn of our Eagle Lake trout. This year the agencies are working harder than ever to make corrections to assist in establishing a native spawn of Eagle Lake trout to prevent or aid in preventing the potential listing as an endangered or threatened species. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has until November 5, 2013 to make a determination. See www.eaglelakeguardians website for the letter sent to USFWS outlining significant problems that have been long overlooked or under estimated. Papoose Creek started flowing first on 3-5 while Pine Creek started flowing on 3-12. Trout are sorted and sexed at the trap. Not every fish that heads upstream is actually spawn ready. Example is that there have been over 300 fish sorted and sexed at the trap while just over 60 fish were ripe hens. Hens that are nearly ripe for spawning are placed in another pen and some actually ripen up over a week or two as long as flows are adequate and the trout remains in good shape. My apologies for this albums late start, I’m doing my best with the time that I have after several unexpected things came up that continue to demamd my attention several times a week. Thanks for hanging in there with me! Nicer weather will help!
